All throughout Human History, homes and workplaces, have always been suspected to be inhabited by spiritual forces. Therefor Many spiritual schools offer techniques for clearing these spaces of bad energy or unwanted entities. This article examines methods used by Romani (Gypsy) healers, Christians and American Indian Traditions to spiritualy cleanse homes and workplaces.

I was raised in a Christian household. My faith in Jesus Christ has always been a guiding force in my life, and I’ve often turned to prayer and the protection of angels. But my spiritual journey has been unique. My grandmother, a Native American healer, has been teaching me the ways of shamanism, and we've spent countless hours together in the desert of Sedona, where the red rocks and open sky hold deep spiritual power. Learning from her has opened my eyes to ancient traditions that go beyond what I grew up with. Added to that, I’ve inherited clairvoyant abilities from my Romani ancestors, which helps me connect with people and energies in ways that still amaze me. I want to share how these traditions work, and how they all shape who I am today.

One of the first lessons my grandmother taught me was about the importance of keeping spaces energetically clean. She explained that everything, from animals to plants to people, carries energy. Sometimes, spaces get clogged with negativity, and that’s when a cleansing is needed. I’ve seen her perform shamanic rituals in our home and even for neighbors, using techniques passed down through generations.

Methods:
Smudging: My grandmother showed me how to smudge with sacred herbs like sage and cedar. When I was little, I would watch her walk around the house, distributing the smoke with a feather. Later in Life, I refined these techniques and I am always thankful, when the smoke clears away what doesn’t belong in that particular home i am working on.

Drumming and Rattling: I was a bit shy at first about using a drum, but the rhythm is important. My grandmother says it breaks up negative energy and helps restore balance. There’s something soothing about the steady beat of a drum as we cleanse a space.

Calling on Spirit Animals: Applying my American Indian tradition, I ask for help from the spirits of “power animals.” For me these are hawks. Sometimes, I’ll feel their presence when I’m cleansing a home, and they’re helping me clear away the energy that’s been weighing the place down.
